A Few Words Wednesday

So, weekend before last I drove and drove and drove (ok, it wasn't that long but it sure seemed like it at times) and ended up in Hagerstown, MD where I met a couple of friends from the Boston area. We went hiking in Harpers Ferry, WV. It's where the Shenandoah River meets up with the Potomac on its way to Washington, DC. We also went into Washington one evening to go to the Terra Cotta Warriors exhibit at the National Geographic.

Hi dw! What a cool trip. Mom loves all that hiking stuff so please take her with you next time. I need some alone time with Dad!

Mom knows someone who hiked the whole Appalachian Trail. It took him months but he loved it. Have you ever read "A Walk in the Woods" by Bill Bryson? Mom said it was one of the best books she ever read. She didn't read it to me so I can't vouch for that.

Hi Stubby! I did read A Walk in the Woods...it was a great book! A friend of mine from Florida (who used to be an internet friend but came to visit in '08 and became a real life friend) has a son who walked from Georgia to PA last summer with his cousin. She and her sister went to go meet the boys a few times along the way. Way cool! Maybe we can do some Illinois hiking this summer!

Hi dw! Mom is up for hiking anytime. I can't go but I think I could live without her for a day as long as Dad is home!

DW, honey.....nice pitchers.

My dad hiked part o' the AT - Georgia through Fontana Dam in Tennesee. Him an' his partner had tuh give it up 'cause of the other guy's skin fallin' off his feet!

That's why proper footwear is important, I tell ya what.
